Vice Adm. Alexander P. Pama of the armed forces of the Philippines shares his point of view about the importance of the Amphibious Landing Exercise 2013 during the opening ceremony. PHIBLEX '13 is a bilateral air-ground and amphibious training exercise between the U.S. armed forces and the armed forces of the Philippines to improve interoperability, increase readiness and the ability to respond in the event of a natural disaster, and build professional and personal relationships. The exercise ensures disaster relief efforts are more responsive, efficient and effective. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Nicholas Rhoades)
