U.S. Marines with Battalion Landing Team 2/1, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, utilize combat rubber raiding craft for transit during an amphibious assault with the 1st Amphibious Rapid Deployment Regiment, Japan Ground Self-Defense Force in the Coral Sea, Aug. 2, during Exercise Talisman Sabre 23. The amphibious assault demonstrated how Marines can deploy rapidly across all domains while supporting a wide range of missions. Talisman Sabre is the largest bilateral military exercise between Australia and the United States advancing a free and open Indo-Pacific by strengthening relationships and interoperability among key allies and enhancing our collective capabilities to respond to a wide array of potential security concerns.
